eBooks in SwetsWise. Your single source for acquiring eBook content.
Swets is delighted to announce that its eBook procurement portal has been fully integrated into SwetsWise and is now available to all customers. The eBooks procurement portal relieves some of the major headaches involved in searching and selecting eBooks. It allows users to purchase both individual titles and eBook collections. Alongside this, users can compare and contrast the different pricing and purchase models available from different providers. The procurement features included will provide customers with a single source for purchasing eBooks and a means to select the desired access route to their acquired content, be it by publishers directly or through an aggregator. SwetsWise now provides the unique capability to browse, acquire and manage all eBook purchases through the same interface in which they manage their print and electronic journal subscriptions.
“Our new procurement portal confronts the complexity of the eBook market head on, creating a single platform from which customers can quickly discover and compare the vendors and purchasing options available for eBook content,” said Debbie Dore, Chief Commercial Officer at Swets. “Our customers have been crying out for this kind of platform and the enthusiastic response we have received during Beta Testing illustrates clearly that we have been able to fulfil this need for them.”
SwetsWise’s comprehensive eBook catalog already contains close to 300,000 titles, from more than 1000 publishers, with the number rapidly increasing daily. Titles and packages from some of the world’s leading aggregators are available to order, namely; ACLS Humanities E-Book (HEB), Ebrary, Ingram Content Group – MyiLibrary, Safari Books Online and SkillSoft - Books 24x7. A full overview of all eBook providers included in the SwetsWise catalog is available for all to view on www.swets.com/ebooks.
SwetsWise has already established itself as the most comprehensive subscriptions management and procurement service available, playing an essential role in the cost reduction efforts of thousands of libraries and information centers around the globe. It facilitates the essential interaction with publishers needed to ensure the timely delivery of subscriptions in the format information users and knowledge workers require. Expanding SwetsWise's scope to include eBooks enables customers to retain unprecedented control over all their acquired content and provides them with a unique and attractive alternative to traditional book suppliers and other agencies.
